Wallpaper Care & Maintenance Guide

Daily Care

Wallpaper requires very little maintenance on a day-to-day basis. Dust can accumulate over time, especially in rooms with open windows or near kitchens. A quick dusting once a week keeps your wallpaper looking fresh.

• Use a soft dry cloth or a feather duster to gently wipe the surface
• Work from top to bottom so dust falls downward and doesn't resettle on cleaned areas
• Avoid pressing too hard — gentle strokes are all you need

Removing Marks and Stains

Accidents happen — a splash of tea, a smudge from a child's hand, or a scuff from moving furniture. Most marks can be dealt with easily if you act promptly.

Use a damp (not wet) microfibre cloth to gently wipe the affected area. For stubborn marks on Vinyl and Non-woven wallpapers, add a small amount of mild soapy water to the cloth. Wipe gently in a circular motion, then pat dry with a clean cloth.

Never use abrasive cleaners, bleach, or scrubbing pads. These will damage the print surface and void any warranty. Avoid spraying liquid directly onto the wallpaper — always apply to the cloth first.

Care by Material Type

Different wallpaper materials have different tolerances. Here is a quick reference for each type we offer:

Easy Matte (Peel & Stick)

Wipeable, mild soap OK, most forgiving. Easy Matte's self-adhesive vinyl surface is inherently waterproof and the easiest to maintain. Wipe with a damp cloth or a gentle all-purpose cleaner diluted in water. It resists stains, moisture, and mild abrasion — the best choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and rentals.

Art Matte & Lustre Satin

Damp cloth is OK. Both carry a light protective coating that allows careful spot cleaning with a barely damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing or prolonged moisture contact. Blot, don't rub. Lustre Satin's soft sheen also helps marks wipe away more easily than a flat matte.

Linen Texture, Soft Grain & Leather Grain

Damp cloth, mild soap OK, highly durable. These textured non-woven substrates are breathable, which helps prevent mould behind the wallpaper. They clean easily with a damp cloth and mild soap, and the texture hides minor wall imperfections. Dust along the grain first so particles don't lodge in the relief.

Pearl Metallic & Stardust

Soft dry cloth first, barely damp if needed. The metallic and shimmer surfaces show water spots more readily than matte finishes. Dust with a dry microfibre cloth; for marks, use a barely damp cloth and dry immediately. Never use abrasive cleaners — they dull the shimmer.

Crystal Canvas & Studio Canvas

Damp cloth, very durable. Canvas is one of the toughest surfaces in our range. It handles moisture well and resists scuffs. Clean with a damp microfibre cloth and mild soap if needed. Ideal for high-traffic areas like hallways and children's rooms.

Monsoon Tips (India-Specific)

India's monsoon season brings extended periods of high humidity, which can affect wallpaper adhesion and longevity. Here is how to protect your walls during the rainy months:

• Ensure wall ventilation. Keep some air circulation in wallpapered rooms. Open windows on dry days and use exhaust fans in enclosed spaces.
• Use a dehumidifier in very humid rooms, especially if you live in coastal cities like Mumbai, Surat, or Chennai. Keeping indoor humidity below 60% is ideal.
• Non-woven and peel-and-stick materials are best for humid climates. In high-humidity areas we recommend Linen Texture, Soft Grain, Leather Grain, or Easy Matte over the paper-class finishes.
• Check edges during monsoon. The seams and edges of wallpaper are most vulnerable to humidity. If you notice any lifting, apply a small amount of wallpaper seam adhesive promptly to prevent further peeling.

Sun Exposure and Fade Resistance

All our wallpapers are printed using HP Latex inks, which are rated for 8–10 years of fade resistance under normal indoor lighting conditions. These inks are also eco-friendly, odourless, and GREENGUARD certified.

For the longest life, avoid direct afternoon sun on south-facing and west-facing walls. If your room receives intense direct sunlight for several hours a day, consider using sheer curtains or UV-filtering window film. This simple step can extend the vibrancy of your wallpaper significantly.

Wallpaper Removal

When the time comes to change your wallpaper, the removal process depends on the material:

• Easy Matte (peel & stick): Peel off cleanly from one corner. No water or chemicals needed. Leaves no residue on properly prepared walls.
• Non-woven finishes (Linen Texture, Soft Grain, Leather Grain, Lustre Satin, Pearl Metallic, Stardust): Pull from a bottom corner and peel upward at a 45-degree angle. Removes cleanly in large sheets. Minimal wall damage.
• Paper-class (Art Matte) and canvas finishes: Needs soaking with warm water or a wallpaper steamer. Let the water penetrate for 10–15 minutes, then carefully peel away. Work slowly to avoid pulling off paint underneath.

Minor paint touch-up may be needed after removal regardless of material, especially at corners and edges. Keep a small amount of your wall paint stored for this purpose.
